Summary

This Service Pack will deliver the following changes, improvements and fixes:

1. Palm T5/Treo 650 Smartphone support

2. ′Base Map′ loading − increased speed

3. Return Trip within the Trip Planner can now be edited

4. POI category inconsistencies resolved

5. General Translation Improvements

6. Correct V2 and V3 map compatibility

7. Destination by Contact

8. Search by Postcode

9. Upgrading the version of SmartST

10. Correct functionality of 3D map screen

Refer to the User Manual for further details on installing V3 SmartST SP1 to your PDA. 

General Improvements and Enhancements:

• Palm T5/Treo 650 Smartphone support − Modifications have been made to the SmartST Palm application to allow for the limited 32 MB of SDRAM.

Note: The SmartST application is a single threaded application; during navigation when voice guidance is provided, a minimal freeze of the map screen may be experienced. For optimum performance of your device, Navman recommend the use of SD cards with 512MB or less of storage space.

• ′Base Map′ loading − increased speed − Authentication has been improved to reduce the time that is required to register and authenticate the product, hence reducing the time required for initial start up.
• Return Trip within the Trip Planner can now be edited − The Palm Trip Planner facility has been modified to provide the same functionality as that of the PPC. Selection of the ′Return trip′ option allows the user to return to the original start location.
• POI category inconsistencies resolved − The categorisation of POI′s has been modified to correctly display POI′s for the associated country and the standard terminology used therein.
• General Translation Improvements − General translation improvements have been made to the following languages; Dutch, Swedish, German and Italian.
• Correct V2 and V3 map compatibility − Due to data differences of Version 2 and Version 3 maps, only one or the other version of map data can be loaded within the same region. Software modification now prevents the user enabling V2 and V3 simultaneously.
• Destination by Contact − Added support for PalmOne specific Contacts application (replacement for Address) with multiple address functionality. There can be up to three addresses per entry; each can be either Work, Home or Other (e.g. it is possible to have three Work addresses, or one Work and two Home addresses, etc).
• Search by Postcode − The options presented in the ′Area′ drop down are filtered according to the postcode entered, this modification allows accurate search by Postcode.
• Upgrading the version of SmartST − Modified logic has been implemented to SmartST that will search for older versions of the application, copy their preferences and then remove them. This modification allows successful version upgrade.
• Correct Functionality of 3D map screen − If a 3D map screen route is cancelled during, simulation/real-time driving, the application correctly cancels the route and reverts the map screen to 2D. A new route can be selected using the 2D screen or main menu.
• Improved Turn Arrow graphics − Software modification ensure bifurcations and off−ramps are correctly detected, the appropriate 45 degree arrows are used instead of 90 degree arrows.
